Here is how our car seat events work with covid restrictions:

Parents are asked to arrive between no more than 10 minutes (only) before your appointment time!!

* Prior to arriving, each person will be asked to perform a self assessment and not attend if they present with any possible symptoms or have had a possibly exposure to covid 19.

* We will begin with a short in class (group) session with social distancing. This means that you will be asked to come inside the St. John ambulance building using hand hygiene, and wear a face covering. You will be assigned a social distancing bubble (you and your partner/friend) and there is 6 foot distancing between all bubbles in the classroom. We will present a short 15- 20 minute PowerPoint about child seats which will include a brief question and answer period.

* This will be followed by each person/group going to their vehicle(s) in the parking lot to make corrections to your seat(s) from what you have learned from the in-class session. A car seat educator then will join you, while we use face coverings, and assess your seat and assist you to properly install your own seat as we have hopefully now provided you with all the needed instruction. We will work one-on-one with you, fill in paperwork and answer any remaining questions you have.


Donations are welcome at our workshops. Donations of $25 or more will get a tax reciept.

Volunteers are happy to offer free education for parents at any of our pre-scheduled workshops only.

I understand and agree that:

A) Inspections are provided to me as a community service by St. John Ambulance Volunteers.
B) All inspections and related programs can't guarantee a child's safety in a collision.
C) Manufacturer's instructions should be followed every time a child restraint is used. It is important that you bring the instruction manual with you to your appointment.
D) The car seat coordinator has the right to cancel clinics/appointments due to weather(most clinics are held outdoors), safety concerns or other unforeseen emergency. Cancellations will be done via the phone number you provided, and option of a "rain date" workshop will be provided.

We, the volunteers of the St. John Ambulance Care Seat Education Team of Leeds Grenville, and Lanark strive to provide the best quality community service we can, however the safety of the our volunteers and you, the client is our highest priority. Thank you for your participation in our program. .
